It’s a family affair at unique equipment hire company Ezi Hire Solutions, with the company’s brother duo taking the business to new heights.
Started in 2014 by Sebastian Mattarelli, and later joined by his brother Thomas Mattarelli, the company began by specialising in hire and supply of steel road plates and is now known as a market leader in this area across Sydney.
As the company has grown, Ezi Hire’s portfolio of hire equipment has expanded, and they now provide their customers with a range of construction equipment and small compaction gear, with a personalised professional service. Last year, Ezi Hire celebrated their 5-year milestone, and looking back on how it all began seems like a pipedream, say the brothers.
“I have been in the equipment hire business for all of my working life and have always had a passion for what I was doing. Prior to starting Ezi Hire, I had been looking forward to a new challenge, so when the opportunity came up to go out on my own, I took it—the rest is history.”
“We had no intentions of going into the larger equipment hire business like excavators, but when we were asked by a customer to get into it, well, here we are 14 machines later,” says Sebastian.
The Kobelco Team got to see one of Ezi Hire’s latest purchases in action when they met the Mattarelli brothers on a work site in the Northern Sydney suburb of Naremburn. The company’s new SK55SRX-6 was hard at work on an emergency job laying pipes for water main repair. The SK55 was right at home on the roadside site, with its short tailswing making it ideal for the limited space, and its extended reach and capacity making it the perfect pipe handling machine for the task at hand.
A Kobelco fan from their first experience, Sebastian purchased a second-hand Kobelco excavator over 3 years ago—the first machine he ever purchased. Their fleet now consists of a range of excavators from the brand, ranging from 1.7 tonne up to 13.5 tonne machines.
The operator only had good things to say about the machine, and Kobelcos in general, praising the comfort of the cabin and how smooth they were to operate. “We have never had any complaints or issues with our Kobelco machines, not a single one, which is great to hear from our customers as we want to supply them with reliable machines and keep them happy so they continue to come back to us,” says Sebastian. “We have no desire to switch from Kobelco—there is no reason to change a good thing.”
Another reason why Ezi Hire keeps coming back to Kobelco?
“The service from our local Kobelco dealership [Sydney Trucks & Machinery] has been outstanding,” adds Thomas. “We get treated like royalty when we go into the dealer, and after not so great service in the past from other dealerships, we really appreciate the lengths they go to make sure we are happy.”
