Liberty Industrial’s new Kobelco SK1300DLC High Reach Demolition Machine reaching new heights in the Northern Territory.

One of Liberty Industrial’s newest additions, the Kobelco SK1300DLC-10 High Reach Demolition Machine, has recently made its debut in Darwin, commencing its mission to dismantle some of the tallest and heaviest structures at a large-scale demolition project underway in the Northern Territory. Boasting the title of the largest OEM-made high reach demolition excavator globally, the Kobelco SK1300DLC stands out for its remarkable capabilities. With a towering reach of up to 40 metres, this machine significantly reduces the necessity for pre-weakening and induced collapse demolition techniques, thereby enhancing safety standards and mitigating risks across the site.

What sets Kobelco’s excavators apart is their integration of cutting-edge technology, prioritising operator comfort and safety. Equipped with the latest advancements, these machines can accommodate larger shear attachments, ensuring maximum demolition power. Furthermore, Kobelco machines are renowned for their exceptional stability and versatility, making them invaluable assets within the Liberty Industrial fleet,” Kurt Denham, National Plant Manager, Liberty Industrial.

Following its arrival in Australia, the Kobelco SK1300DLC underwent assembly for its inaugural deployment. Direct support from technicians at the Kobelco factory in Japan facilitated this process. Comprehensive training sessions on assembly, disassembly, and operational procedures were conducted in Darwin for both the local dealer, Forecast Machinery, and the Liberty Industrial team. Northern Territory Kobelco dealer, Forecast Machinery, prepped for the machine’s arrival by stockpiling fast-moving parts and consumables and established a parts stocking list in Darwin, maintained from a central distribution centre in Sydney. These measures ensured prompt support despite the remote location of the project in the NT, emphasising the commitment to uphold the machine’s performance in the field.

Impressed by the outstanding performance of their initial acquisition, Liberty Industrial wasted no time in further bolstering their demolition capabilities and have since taken delivery of a second Kobelco SK1300DLC, this time assembled by Kobelco dealer BrisVegas Machinery, reaffirming their confidence in the brand and its machinery. This proactive move underscores Liberty’s commitment to staying at the forefront of the demolition industry, ensuring they possess the necessary equipment to tackle even the most challenging projects with efficiency and precision. With their expanding fleet of Kobelco SK1300DLCs, Liberty Industrial is poised to continue delivering exceptional results, solidifying their position as a leader in the field.
