Kobelco launches new SR-7 Series Excavators
Kobelco has released its Next Generation SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 excavators in its midi range boasting features that have not been seen on excavators of this size before. The new models set high industry-standards offering greater efficiency, superior productivity and advanced interior design for optimal operational comfort.

“The new SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 excavators offer superior performance, greater efficiency and productivity with increased power and speed. The interior cab fit out presents more like that of a European car than an excavator, providing operators with optimal comfort with a simple and elegant design and aesthetic sense,” Doug says.
Impressive specifications include an increase in engine output and lifting capacity. With a dynamic digging force of 60.2kN, the arm digging speed is remarkably increased by 37%, resulting in reducing the digging cycle time by 15%.
With the Yanmar Tier 4 Final engine, the power output is increased by a massive 27.9%. These new models are set to attain high-performance without reducing the travel speed even when lifting heavy loads or travelling in hilly and steep areas.
“The short radius design allows operators to work in compact spaces and Kobelco’s proprietary iNDr system delivers ultra-quiet operation and protection from dust, making them ideal for urban environments. These excavators are also very easy to service and maintain,” says Doug.
Kobelco’s pursuit of first-class design gives these SR-7 series excavators a sophisticated interior, contributing to unparalleled comfort and productivity. The new large sized cab has many great features such as an air suspension seat, ergonomic controls, a smartphone holder, Bluetooth telephone connectivity, a 10 inch colour multi-display monitor, built-in rear, left, and right cameras and more.
“Another attractive feature is the installation of LED backlights on switches and dials. The LED interior light automatically turns on when the door is opened or when the ignition is turned off ensuring easy entry and exit when operating on jobsites in the evening,” Doug says.
Across the board, the new Kobelco SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 models are filled with exceptional features and performance capabilities that are set to change the game for owners and operators.
With three model configurations in the new range Kobelco has a solution for all types of work. The notable difference between the SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 is the boom configuration. Different types of boom configuration allow the operator to tackle various challenges on the job site.
The SK75SR-7 is available with fixed mono boom and offset boom configurations. The SK85MSR-7 is available with swing boom configuration giving major competition to traditional straight-boom midi excavators available in the market.
