Effective since mid-November 2017, Sherrin Equipment is the new Kobelco dealer for far north Queensland, exclusively covering from Bowen and north to Townsville and Cairns. Sherrin Equipment is the retail arm of Sherrin Group, a major provider of rental equipment across Australia. The Sherrin Group will be celebrating 50 years next year and services government-funded infrastructure and maintenance work as well as quarry and mining projects.
“Kobelco is a proven product with a loyal customer base. Our Townsville branch will provide customers with solutions to their excavation requirements for sales, service and hire,” says Ben Hill, General Manager of Sherrin Equipment.
“The decision to partner with Kobelco was primarily based on its reputation within the industry, the reliability of the products and the fact that the machines are proven performers,” Ben says.
Sherrin Equipment’s Townsville dealership has a full team of staff employed in both customer service and support roles to assist with sales, servicing and parts in the far north Queensland region.
The company prides itself on its exceptional customer service, with 24 hour a day, seven days a week professional product support. The dealership includes a fully operational workshop that includes overhead craneage, automated lubrication and field service. Kobelco has been working closely with the dealership to ensure that the transition is as seamless as possible for staff and customers.

Sherrin Equipment is experienced in excavators but has relied upon Kobelco’s expert staff for more in-depth training and product knowledge. Sherrin Equipment has already ordered three Kobelco excavators – two 21-tonne and one 30-tonne arriving from early December.
