Launch of Kobelco Construction Machinery Australia Pty Ltd

The Kobelco Dealer Conference was held in Auckland on 21st March 2013 for our dealer network from Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia. 

The Conference provided an opportunity to launch our new business name, Kobelco Construction Machinery Australia Pty Ltd (KCMA) which became effective 2nd April 2013, following the termination of the Global Alliance between Kobelco and CNH which was in place since 2002.

Kobelco General Manager Doug McQuinn said, “Our new company will focus on the Kobelco excavator brand without distraction. Being wholly owned by Kobelco Construction Machinery Japan we receive fantastic support from our new factory in Hiroshima and from KCMJ management.”

Doug adds, “We will focus on offering our customers Kobelco excavators which are renowned for their fuel efficiency and performance, and a high level of after-sales service and parts support through our Dealer network so that Kobelco owners maximise productivity and avoid downtime.” 

The dealer network also had the chance to visit the Matamata premises of our New Zealand dealer, Mimico which was then followed by a tour of Hobbiton, the film set of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies.

The two day event was successful in getting staff and dealers together to share in future plans.
