Kobelco excavators with Trimble Earthworks system

Kobelco and Trimble have announced the introduction of a Trimble Ready option for select Generation 10 Kobelco excavator models in Australia and New Zealand. Select excavators from the Kobelco factory are now ready for the installation of the Trimble Earthworks Grade Control Platform for excavators, which can significantly reduce the cost and complexity of the installation for a customer.

Trimble earthworks machine control technology is a giant leap forward and probably the most significant change in the industry offering the latest generation machine as 3D GPS guidance ready. It is the most easy to use system in the market where you can train unskilled operators to do work which could previously only be completed by someone with years of experience.

The demand for contractors to be more efficient and productive is higher than ever. The 3D machine control system allows the user to input a design and then to control the position of the bucket and the boom automatically. All that an operator needs to do is position the machine and simply pull back on the arm control stick where the operator wants to cut the grade, taking all the effort out of the hands and cutting the edge perfectly on grade according to the site plan. The feedback from Kobelco customers is that this system allows operators to double their productivity and efficiency.
