Kobelco Construction Machinery Australia Pty Ltd – Proudly Supporting beyondblue

KCMA feels that it is important to give back to the community and has decided to support beyondblue as it is an important national not-for-profit organisation that encourages those in the Australian community with anxiety and depression to seek help.

The facts are that on average, one in eight men will have depression and one in five men will experience anxiety at some stage in their lives. Anxiety and depression is a serious condition that affects men because they are less likely to talk about it and seek support.

KCMA works in a predominantly male-oriented industry and we feel that supporting this charity and raising awareness through our community and nationwide Dealer network would touch those affected and encourage them to get the support they need.

beyondblue: the national depression and anxiety initiative

Most Australians have some experience with anxiety and depression or related disorders, whether it is personal or via family, friends or work colleagues.  beyondblue’s work is aimed at achieving an Australian community that understands depression and anxiety, empowering all Australians, at any life-stage, to seek help.  beyondblue raises awareness, reduces stigma and ensures people have access to the information they need to support recovery, management and resilience.

beyondblue is a national, independent, not-for-profit organisation and a bipartisan initiative of the Australian, state and territory governments.

beyondblue works in partnership with health services, schools, workplaces, universities, media and community organisations, as well as people living with depression, anxiety and related disorders and their carers, to bring together expertise and provide tools and resources.

beyondblue is:

• Increasing awareness of depression and anxiety
• Reducing stigma and discrimination
• Improving help seeking
• Reducing impact and disability
• Facilitating learning, collaboration, innovation and research
